Capital Equipment Sales Specialist

Sychem are seeking a full-time Sales Specialist in Capital Equipment to support business growth by increasing revenue and developing and maintaining a solid business reputation and presence. 

Salary: Competitive, DOE

Location: UK based, ideally within a Central England area (Herts, Bucks, Northampton, Leics, Notts, Derby, Ox)

Aims & Goals of the role:

  • To develop, build, and maintain customer relationships and company reputation
  • To increase revenue and contribute to business success in sales

Key tasks:

  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve individual and company sales targets as defined by the Sales Director.
  • Customer Engagement: Identify and engage potential customers, build relationships, and understand their needs and requirements.
  • Product Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the features, benefits, and applications of the Company product range specific to the target markets and utilise the sales team to assist in the growth of this range.
  • Sales Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective customers, highlighting the value proposition and unique selling points of the equipment and business to increase industry awareness to our brand and solutions.
  • Sales Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with customers to secure orders and maximize profitability with the support of the Sales Director.
  • Account Management: Manage and nurture existing customer accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, repeat business, and long-term relationships directly and via our sales team. Responsible to effective territory account management to ensure full customer base coverage.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and potential threats.
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate sales records, prepare reports, and provide sales forecasts to management through the implementation of the companies CRM system.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing, design, sales and customer support, to ensure a seamless sales process and customer experience.
  • Industry Events: Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to network, generate leads, and promote the company’s products.
  • Tenders: Assist with and complete tenders by applying your knowledge of our product and industry understanding to enable the business to excel and meet its growth targets
  • Targets: Maintain a sales opportunity pipeline and provide regular updates in order to achieve and meet a agreed sales order value on an annual basis.
  • General Responsibilities: Represent the company and its principles in a professional, safe and efficient manner always, ensure duties are carried out in accordance with the company’s policy and procedures and assist with other company roles whose duties you might reasonably be expected to undertake during peak times or periods of team absence.
  • Business Development: Stay aware of new business-related opportunities to help grow sales into new sectors and territories.

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant proven experience of sales account management towards high value capital equipment (technically engineered solutions) – Sectors with experience in: Healthcare, Life Sciences, Aerospace, Automotive, Machine Tools, Process (Oil, Gas, Water)
  • Energetic, positive self-starter
  • Excellent people and relationship skills
  • Proven organisational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competent IT user, especially in Microsoft Office applications and Sales Force.com (other CRM systems)
  • Able to develop suitable reporting tools to highlight and demonstrate sales activities
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Able to travel and stay away as the business requirements.
  • Event travel as required (potential for weekend works during these events) – 2-3 times per year.
  • Remote working with ownership of territory planning/work load
